Why the name Black Bear? During the early years the partners would meet to discuss the aspirations for the company at the oldest building in town, 56 N. Market Street. This building built in 1745 was originally the trading post occupied by Barnabus and Elizabeth Hughes. Hence Elizabethtown was named after Elizabeth Hughes. This building later was home to the oldest Tavern known in Elizabethtown, called the Black Bear Tavern. That and considering the bear symbol in the community is strong they decided on the name Black Bear for all the company branding needs. Currently the Black Bear brand represents the vertically integrated divisions of development, construction, and property management.

Brad and Ryan have over 40 years of combined executive management experience owning, managing, and operating businesses in the small and midsize company range within these sectors. Their strengths in finance, core systems, strategic management, and quality control prove to be an asset to every team they leads. They both have a passion for restoring old properties, helping the community, and providing guidance to other business owners.
Property Manager
Jess is the Property and Leasing Manger at Black Bear Rents. She handles all the administration work from pre to post lease including all the day-to-day operations of the properties. From application to resident enquiries and evictions, Jess’s calm, matter of fact attitude can handle all the work for you! In addition, during your time if you have any resident portal or payment issues, please contact Jess to assist.
Maintenance Manager
Seth is the Maintenance Manager at Black Bear Rents. Seth owned and operated a property construction and landscaping business for over 20 years before joining the Black Bear Rents Team. This makes him the go to team member for all your maintenance needs. He takes pride in making your experience stand above any other rental company.
